Good question! Before I dive in, let me explain the single confusing thing about pulling oil: pulling oil refers to the actual product, a natural and safe oil you use to clean your mouth. Oil pulling is the process of using pulling oil.
Yes. Ayurveda is the oldest holistic healing system in human civilization, and it’s still being studied and practiced today. A core principle of Ayurveda is that the mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body.

30 subjects having tooth shade of A1 or darker were enrolled. Subjects were instructed to use the study article once a day for 2 minutes. Compared to their initial baseline values, subjects who used the Gurunanda Oil Pulling Rinse for 6 weeks showed an average improvement of 2.6 shades on the positive side.
Oral safety assessments and tooth shade measurements were taken by a California state licensed dentist.

A 3-week, single-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted, involving 66 subjects. Participants were randomly assigned to either the active (Group B) or placebo (Group A) groups, with 33 subjects in each.
The outcomes of this study provide strong support for the claims of “up to 24 Hours Fresh Breath” when used as directed.

As I healed through Ayurveda, I became the guru of my own wellness. And that’s what I desire for you too.
When I first came to the United States over two decades ago, I thought I knew everything about wellness. After all, I was a foreign medical expert and entrepreneur. How wrong I was. Soon, my crazy work hours, terrible diet, and constant stress took their toll. I was taken to the hospital for an apparent heart attack. In fact, it was a nervous breakdown.
As soon as I could, I took a trip to India, where I was born and raised. There, I threw myself into the ancient Indian healing system of Ayurveda. In fact, I come from a long line of healers. My great-grandfather Lal Bihari Nanda was in his day one of the top Ayurvedic healers in the world. But when my family migrated from Pakistan to India, that knowledge was lost.
I founded GuruNanda to bring the holistic, transformational benefits of Ayurveda to the whole world. The company’s name is meant to be playful. My commitment to you is threefold: authenticity, quality, and good karma.
This Alliance is a network of farmers around the world who I have built strong personal friendships with. GC-MS is short for Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. This is a method of quality testing used to identify unknown samples, contaminants, or residual solvents in essential oils. It is the most accurate way to identify the purity of the essential oil, similar to how blood tests operate for human beings.
Here at GuruNanda, not only do we do third-party GC-MS testing, but we also test our essential oils with our very own in-house GC-MS machine. We include a copy of each test result on every product detail page for full transparency.
If you’re never heard of this, it’s because sadly many essential oil businesses do not make these results publicly available. We do the opposite.
The 7-step routine sounds complicated, but it really isn’t.
When I first saw their 7-step oral care routine, I assumed it would take forever. Most of the steps only take a minute or two and after a couple of weeks it became automatic. It feels much easier than it looks on paper.
This completely changed my opinion of oil pulling.
